£9K Tennis Fundraiser for Childrens Hospice SW

A cheque for £9,000 was presented to the Children’s Hospice South West by our Tennis Captains, Vanessa Killick and Jon Rucker at last night’s Open Summer Club Night, with The Tennis Store!

This incredible amount was raised from various events including the Women’s Doubles Charity Cup and Rackets Christmas Dinner.

Henrietta Olsson, fundraiser for Children’s Hospice South West, collected the cheque for this incredible local charity that has cared for babies, children and young people with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions by providing hospice care and professional family support services, for over 30 years.

James Wilkinson from the Tennis Store provided demo rackets and expert advice to players looking to try out the latest models.

Top tip – his shop on Cowick Street is the perfect place to pick up anything tennis related as it’s great to be able to check out kit in the flesh rather than buying online – plus he’s an absolute expert in his field. 😀

Thank you to everyone who came along to play, watch and support!
