Family Memberships at Exeter Golf and Country Club

Family life is busy, so having one place where everyone can swim, play, train, learn and relax makes a difference.

At Exeter Golf & Country Club, our Family and Junior Memberships are designed around the different stages of family life. From toddlers taking their first swimming lessons to teenagers playing tennis, learning to golf or getting started in the gym, there are plenty of ways to stay active and enjoy time together.

With indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis, squash, golf, junior coaching, fitness and family-friendly spaces, there’s something for every generation.

Make more time for each other. Make it count.

A FLEXIBLE FAMILY CLUB

BUILD THE MEMBERSHIP THAT SUITS YOU ALL

How it works:

Parents or adults join with swimming included, then add Rackets, Fitness or Golf if required, while children receive age – and experience – appropriate access to the facilities and activities, with coaching and swimming lessons available as extra.

Swim

Take a dip whatever the weather in our heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Junior members can also enjoy weekend fun sessions with floats and toys, while swimming lessons and holiday intensive courses are available as optional extras.

Tennis

Get on court and play together, with junior court access included. For parents, there’s a choice of Rackets Membership, pay as you go for courts, or even Free Tennis Afternoons from 1pm – 4pm. Children and teenagers can also take part in LTA Youth sessions, junior tennis squads, competitions and individual coaching.

Squash and Racketball

Junior members can use the squash and racketball courts and develop their skills through dedicated Sunday Morning Junior Squash sessions and professional coaching.

Gym, Yoga & Pilates

Older teenagers can take their fitness further with access to the gym and fitness classes through an additional fitness bolt-on, subject to consultation and induction.

Golf coaching

Whilst access to the golf course isn’t included in Junior Memberships as standard, there are opportunities to invest in golf coaching. Whether your child is completely new to golf or already developing their game, our Junior Golf Academy and professional coaching provide a great introduction to the sport.

JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP THAT GROWS AS THEY DO

HEALTHY HABITS | LASTING FRIENDSHIPS | LIFELONG MEMORIES

The habits children develop when they are young can stay with them for life – as well as the family memories you create together. Junior Membership makes being active part of everyday life, while giving children and teenagers the opportunity to try different sports, learn new skills and build confidence.

There’s no pressure to be the best. They can simply find something they enjoy – whether that’s swimming, tennis, squash, golf or fitness.

A family club needs to work beyond the gym and sports facilities.

After swimming, grab a bite to eat. Catch up over coffee while the little ones play. Let the older children challenge each other to table tennis or table football. Or simply spend an afternoon together without having to go anywhere else.

Our Members Bar features soft play for under-5s, while older children can enjoy table tennis and table football. Family-friendly menus are available in the Members Bar, Garden Pavilion and Wear Park Restaurant, with poolside pizzas available from the Pool Hut.

And when Sunday comes around, the whole family can enjoy a children’s Sunday lunch together.

Come for the sport. Stay for everything else.

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP

AWAY FOR UNI - BACK FOR THE HOLIDAYS

If your son or daughter is studying outside Devon, Student Membership provides a flexible option for time spent back in Exeter.

Depending on their membership type, they can enjoy access to the gym, swimming pools, tennis, squash and golf, giving them somewhere to train, unwind and catch up with family when they’re home.

Student Membership is available at the same rates as our standard 19 – 22 membership options, with start/stop options available throughout the year to suit university term dates.

It’s a simple way to keep them active while they’re home – without paying for the time they’re away.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

CAN A CHILD JOIN WITHOUT A PARENT?

Whilst we prefer children to join with their parent or immediate family, we understand this may not always be possible. Therefore, children can join if attached to a relative or close friend (18 years+) who is a member of Exeter Golf and Country Club. Written permission from both parents and current members, is required, along with relevant contact information for parents in case of emergency or other issues that may arise. A child attached to a non-parent member can only visit the club with that member present.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE FOR A CHILD TO JOIN AS AN INDIVIDUAL?

Teenagers are welcome to join the club in their own right, as an adult, from the age of 16. Please note that in order to access ‘adult-only’ sessions in the swimming pools, individuals must be 18 years or over.
