Medical Conditions, Allergies and Contraindications
To ensure your visit to Wear Park Spa is safe, comfortable and tailored to you, we ask all guests to complete our Spa Health and Medical Questionnaire before their treatment.
Please let us know about any existing medical conditions, allergies, medication, recent surgery or other health considerations when completing the form. This information allows our therapists to assess whether your chosen treatment is suitable and whether any adaptations are required.
If you have, or are currently experiencing, any of the following, please contact Wear Park Spa before your appointment as we may need further information or medical advice before treatment can go ahead:
Cancer or recent cancer treatment
Heart conditions
High or low blood pressure
Epilepsy
Diabetes
Thrombosis or a history of blood clots
Kidney or liver conditions
Thyroid conditions
Severe allergies, including nut or shellfish allergies
Dialysis
Skin conditions
Feeling unwell
Any condition requiring ongoing medical treatment
Please also let us know if you have had surgery within the last six months, as this may affect which treatments are suitable for you.
If you have any concerns about your health, allergies or the suitability of a particular treatment, please speak to our Spa team before your appointment. Where appropriate, we may ask you to obtain medical advice from your GP or healthcare professional before treatment.
Pregnancy
If you are pregnant, please let us know when making your booking. Some treatments may be suitable during pregnancy, while others will need to be adapted or avoided depending on your stage of pregnancy.
Our therapists will be happy to advise you on suitable treatments and any necessary adaptations. We also recommend avoiding our heat facilities, including the sauna, steam room and hot tub, during pregnancy.
Medical Treatment and Cancer Care
If you are currently undergoing treatment for cancer or another significant medical condition, please speak to us before booking. We can discuss your circumstances and advise whether a treatment can be adapted or whether medical clearance is required.
Your Treatment and Health Assessment
Your health and wellbeing are always our priority. All treatments are subject to the information provided on your Health and Medical Questionnaire and our therapist’s professional assessment.
If a treatment is considered unsuitable or there is a potential risk to your health, we reserve the right to modify or decline the treatment. Where possible, we will recommend a suitable alternative.
If your health circumstances change between completing your questionnaire and your appointment, please let us know before your treatment.
