Well done to the Tennis Members for raising over £8,000 for @charityforcecancer last year. The cheque was presented to the charity on Sunday at the Women`s Tennis Charity Cup which took place on Sunday 14th June.
40 players from clubs across Devon came together for the Women’s Charity Cup. The event was a resounding success both on and off the court, raising awareness and over £1,600 for the tennis section’s charity for this year, The Elena Baltacha Foundation.
The day’s play was split across three grades, with some highly competitive matches throughout. Congratulations to all the winners: Catherine Hayman and Wendy Smith took the honours in the A Grade, Sally Rogers and Liz Partridge claimed victory in the B Grade, and Joanna Kinder and Jill Shorthouse triumphed in the C Grade. Prizes were presented by Penelope Moor, a member of the club and trustee of the Elena Baltacha Foundation, who was in attendance to enjoy the day’s action.

June has been a standout month for golf so far, with the 49th Annual Pro-Am welcoming 45 teams, raising an impressive £6,000 for @balloons_devon and delivering a course-record winning score, and some strong performances in county competitions.
Well done to the Exeter Golf and Country Club men`s golf teams for progressing to the quarter-finals of the Parker Trophy, securing a hard-fought victory over Honiton in the Palairet, and successfully defending the Hamish Marshall Trophy to retain their title as East Devon Golf League champions.
With outstanding performances, memorable events and fantastic support for local charities, what an excellent start to the summer season.

You feel it as soon as you turn onto the driveway.
The golf course stretching out beside you. The Georgian house ahead. The sense that, for the next few hours at least, the demands of the day can wait.
With a heatwave on the way, summer feels pretty special at Exeter Golf and Country Club.
A swim in the outdoor pool. A lazy hour on a sun lounger in the Victorian walled garden. Lunch on the terrace. A workout, a coffee, a catch-up with friends. Whatever your version of switching off looks like, you`ll find it here.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "The facilities are excellent, from the indoor and outdoor pools to the gym and food."
Of course, great facilities matter. But it`s the setting, the atmosphere and the feeling of escaping the everyday that makes being a member here different.

Celebrate English Wine Week with us!
From 20th–28th June, we’re shining a spotlight on two incredible wines from right here in Devon - the perfect excuse to step away from your usual Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon and discover something closer to home.
Calancombe Estate - Bacchus - often referred to as the Sauvignon of England - has gentle aromas of grapefruit, gooseberry and a touch of tropical fruit, and is clean and crisp of the palate with a touch of fresh citrus and peach.
Sharpham Dart Valley Reserve is beautifully elegant, with a delicately complex palate of ripe, fruit-driven flavours, subtle floral notes and a fresh acidity that’s made for sunny afternoons.
To celebrate, we’re giving our members an extra reason to raise a glass…
DOUBLE MEMBER DISCOUNT on these two Devon wines ~ enjoy a 175ml glass for just £6.96 throughout English Wine Week.
Come and discover why these wines from local award-winning vineyards are our recommended wines of the week.
Who’s ready to make the switch?

What an honour to host the Devon Schools Tennis Festival at Exeter Golf and Country Club, organised by St Lukes CofE School and sponsored by the LTA. 🎾
60 local school children from four primary schools - Trinity CofE, Montgomery, Haywards and Bowhill - came along for a morning of fun, activity and learning new tennis skills on court.
For many of the children, it was their very first time playing tennis - and their first opportunity to step onto real tennis courts.
The festival was all about giving children the chance to try something new, build confidence, develop skills and enjoy being active with their classmates. It was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm, determination and excitement throughout the day.
A huge thank you to all the schools, teachers, coaches and volunteers who helped make the event such a success. Hopefully, this experience has inspired many of the children to pick up a racket again in the future!

THE SERVE | Tennis tips to transform your game | Part 4.
Wimbledon is nearly here… so it’s time to work on your serve!
Head of Rackets, James Temple, shares one of the key fundamentals behind a more consistent serve - getting the ball placement right from the very start.
Try lifting the ball with a straight arm, releasing it slightly in front of your body and with as little spin as possible. Think of your non-dominant arm as a lever, smoothly guiding the ball into position. Getting this part of the serve right will help you achieve greater consistency and confidence on court.
With Wimbledon just around the corner, there’s no better inspiration to pick up a racket and get playing.
