Exe League Meeting at Exeter: Finals Day – Sunday 1st September
Exeter headed into the final round of the Exe League in a commanding position at the top of the table. Captain Darren Bingham led his team into Finals Day with the meeting held at Exeter on Sunday. The Exe League is played in a stableford format with both foursomes and betterball pairings played from each of the four participating clubs (Exeter, East Devon, Tiverton & Woodbury). The course was in great condition with the greens receiving compliments from all players. The weather was sunny with a strong breeze in the air, making for an exciting final meet. Exeter selected a strong team from a very good pool of players, looking to conclude their dominance in this year’s Exe League season. Exeter certainly didn’t disappoint on the day with another fine display in both the foursomes and betterball pairings, picking up another overall win, and incredible winning three of the four meetings with an Exe League record of 34 points in total. Stand out performances on the day included Joe Charchafchi & John Bamford with 34 points in the foursomes and Alex Worthington & Arbie May with 46 points & Harrison Greenberry & Darren Bingham with 43 points both in the betterball.
Congratulations to Darren and the Exeter team on an incredible Exe League season, dominating from the first meeting. Exeter the Champions of Exe League in 2024.
