Saturday Morning Tennis is back

The summer term is almost here!

After the Easter holidays, our LTA Youth Saturday Morning coaching sessions will return for a new course. These sessions are a great way for junior of all ages to get into tennis and improve their skills. The programme is designed to grow as the kids do with smaller courts and softer balls develop into the real deal as they pick up all the skills they need.

Do you have to be a member?

Children who aren’t members of the club can book one beginner course as a non-member. To continue after that first course, children must become club members with a parent.

Saturday Session Times

Ages 4-8: Red, 10.15am-11.00am

For the younger players the programme is designed to finesse their fine motor skills like balance, agility and coordination. As players progress, this looks a bit more like the tennis you know; overarm serves, rallies, scoring. Kids can use their knowledge to play in competitions as teams or individuals. It’s still soft balls and small courts but they’re learning everything they’ll need for the game ahead.

Ages 8-11: Orange/Green, 11.00am-12.00pm

All the skills they’ve been learning are turning them into tennis Titans. Time to throw in some tactics, extra techniques, problem-solving and leadership too; they’re becoming Mini Murray’s before your eyes.

Ages 11+: Yellow, 12.00pm-1.00pm

At the Yellow stage, children are now playing on a full size court with the balls the professionals use. Children will continue to explore different game styles and start to find their own. They will evolve through well-rounded motor skills development whilst improving their physical capacities.

The new course runs for 14 weeks from 20th April until 20th July (missing 1st June for half-term).

The red group costs £93. The orange/green and yellow groups cost £119.
