Devon U11s Qualify for Inter-County Finals

The Devon U11s team have qualified for the Inter-County Finals, to be held in Sheffield this March, after an outstanding weekend of county competition against teams from across the South West.

Ralph van Zijl and Harry Brown, from Exeter Golf and Country Club juniors, were part of the three-player U11s squad that won all of their matches, recording impressive victories over Dorset, Wales B, and Gloucestershire.

Alongside this success, Devon were represented by five Exeter Golf and Country Club juniors across the age groups:

Ellie Sharpe – Girls U17 (playing up an age group)

Harry Brown – U11

Ralph van Zijl – U11

Max Webber – U13

Albie Hill – U13

Ellie and the U13 boys were involved in several closely contested matches but narrowly missed out on qualification for the finals.

All Devon juniors were managed and coached throughout the weekend by Steve Mooney, who guided the teams through a highly competitive county event.

Congratulations to all players on a fantastic achievement and best of luck to the U11s in Sheffield!
