England Squash Coach Tutor and Head of Devon Squash Junior Coaching and Graded Tournaments, Steve Mooney, is joining the Squash and Racketball coaching line up at Exeter Golf and Country Club. Steve is now available for individual coaching sessions on Tuesday afternoons, and is also running a junior squad.Â
With over 25 years of coaching experience, covering all ages and levels from beginners to national level players, Steve’s knowledge and experience surpasses most, having also played at an elite level himself reaching Number 3 for the Irish Over 45 Team in 2016 having qualified at the Irish Masters the year before.
 Steve started playing squash at the age of 7, soon after playing for Cheshire and then the Under 19 Irish National Squad. After his degree in Sports Science, he played and coached full time, before studying for his Masters at Loughborough University. Whilst at Loughborough he was part of the first team who won the British Universities Championship. After his studies, he moved to Norfolk and played for the County First Team, the over 35s and the over 45s county teams. He was appointed Norfolk Junior Chairman – a position he held for 8 years and Norfolk Chairman for 5 years. Steve completed his coaching qualifications whilst working as a PE teacher and is now a Level 3 qualified coach with plans to undertake the lLevel 4 qualification in the next two years.
In 2023, Steve completed his second Masters, this time in High Performance Sports Coaching at Plymouth Marjon University.
Steve is available for individual coaching for adults and juniors.Â
