From 101kg to 87kg and a New Mindset:
Gavin’s Fitness Gains through PT with Vince
When Gavin stepped on the scales on New Year’s Day and saw 101kg, he knew it was time for a change.
Six months later – Gavin’s achieved a 14kg weight loss, a significant increase in strength and improved mobility.
–
Here’s how he did it –
working with Exeter Golf and Country Club Personal Trainer, VInce Mann.
Having tried to lose weight before, he admits he was never fully committed. Like many people, he’d start with good intentions before old habits gradually crept back in. This time, however, things were different.
His turning point came during his first personal training session with Vince at Exeter Golf and Country Club.
“Vince said, ‘I’ll happily take your money, but if you’re not committed, it’s just a waste of time.’ That honesty was exactly what I needed to hear. There were no gimmicks, just a clear message that success comes from commitment and consistency.”
Over the following months, Gavin completely changed the way he approached health and fitness. Rather than skipping meals or following restrictive diets, he learned that sustainable weight loss starts with good nutrition. Tracking his calories, eating foods that kept him fuller for longer and understanding the importance of a consistent calorie deficit transformed his results while still allowing room to enjoy life’s occasional treats.
Alongside improving his nutrition, Gavin built strength and confidence through regular personal training sessions and discovered an unexpected passion for boxing. As a Hatton Boxing instructor, Vince introduced him to the sport, which quickly became one of the highlights of his training each week.
Gavin credits much of his success to the encouragement of his wife, Sukhi, and their children, Nic and Chloe, whose support has kept him motivated throughout his journey.
A member of Exeter Golf and Country Club for around 10 years, Gavin has also enjoyed seeing the club evolve. From the refurbished gym to the welcoming community, he says it’s a place where people genuinely enjoy spending time while working towards their health and fitness goals.
Although he’s still progressing towards his goals, Gavin says the biggest transformation has been his mindset.
“This isn’t a quick fix or another diet. It’s been a complete lifestyle change. Working with Vince has given me the knowledge, encouragement and accountability I needed. If you’re prepared to put the effort in, he’ll help you achieve results you never thought were possible.”
If you’re ready to begin your own fitness journey, Personal Training could be the first step towards achieving lasting results.
