Junior Pro-Am
A fantastic 21 teams from across the county took part in this year’s Junior Pro-Am, giving young golfers the opportunity to experience competitive golf alongside a professional.
With each team made up of three junior golfers and one professional, there was plenty of talent on show throughout the event, with junior handicaps ranging as low as +1. Both the boys and girls demonstrated some impressive skills, making for a highly competitive and enjoyable day.
In the team event, Stover Golf Club claimed the top two positions, finishing with 89 and 87 points respectively. In third place was Lewis Beer and his team of Exeter GCC juniors.
The professional individual competition was won by home professional Ryan Pope, who finished three under par with an excellent 67. He narrowly edged out fellow Exeter professionals Jack Jeffery and David Cockayne, who finished alongside Harry Mayers from Churston.
The feedback from players, parents and junior organisers was hugely positive, with the event proving to be a great experience for everyone involved.
With the success of this year’s event, the aim for next year is to welcome 30 teams and make the Junior Pro-Am even bigger.
