English Senior National Squash Championships returns 12th-14th January

The English Senior National Squash Championships returns to Exeter Golf and Country Club once again on the 12th-14th January, with two exciting draws full of top English talent and up and coming players.

It is great to have the four finalists from last year’s event all returning, Champions Kiera Marshall and Jack Mitterer both looking to defend their titles, with Amelie Haworth and Jonah Bryant both on the hunt for a revenge win. Bryant in particular has been in scintillating form on the PSA main tour lately and has been shooting through the rankings at pace.

The Men’s draw is led by the Bristol based top 100 ranked James Peach, a regular to the club and a favourite with the members at EGCC. With Bryant at 2 seed, Will Salter and Nathan Mead at 3/4 it’s a solid top four.

Lower down in the seedings we have the likes of Mitterer at 5/8 who will be a tricky opponent early on for the higher ranks, alongside some unseeded but vastly experienced local players too looking to take a scalp or two!

The Ladies draw is led by Marshall with Haworth once again in at second seed. This time round though there is a great depth across the rest of the top 8 with some quality up and coming players in the mix. The likes of Isabel McCullough, Olivia Besant, Amy Campbell Wynter, Jasmin Kalar, Jasmine Thirst and Reka Kemecsei all are pushing up through the Ladies PSA ranks, and will be looking to challenge the status quo here.

Needless to say there are a few upsets on the cards across the weekend and we can’t wait to see it all unfold.

We will be live streaming the court 1 & 2 matches through the rounds on Facebook so please do tune in for a watch of the action! For those more local, spectators can come to the squash courts to watch the live action.

A huge thank you to our two incredibly generous event sponsors. Michael Spiers Jewellers for the prize fund, allowing us to draw such a strong line up in, and iPRO Sports for providing the high quality tournament shirts. Both sponsors have always been huge supporters of the game in the UK and we are lucky to have them on board.

You can see the draws and schedule for the weekend attached, hope to see you here.
