End of Season Golf Celebration raises over £1K for the RD&E

This year’s Men’s Golf Captain struck away from the traditional ‘dinner dance’ end to the golf season, choosing to celebrate with a laid back, fun and informal party with food, dancing and live music, raising around £1,000 for the RD&E Oncology Department.

Jazz singer, Marvin Muoneke, got the party going with his funk, soul and R&B classics.

Geoff Fidler, Men’s Golf Captain said, “The atmosphere was electric from the beginning as a large cross section of members and guest arrived. The ambience, food and beverages were first class enjoyed by all. I was so grateful that I had seen our entertainer Marvin and just knew he would ensure the night would be successful. Staying well after his finish time.

My thanks must go to all staff involved with this event superbly executed. I also would like to thank the following for their generous donations for the draw and auction prizes – Exeter City Football Club; Boots Chemist (Exe Bridges) Darren Everett Golf Director/Professional. Exeter Golf and Country Club; Anonymous Golf Member.

The Ladies’ Golf Captain, Vicki and I set ourselves a target of £20,000 to raise for the Royal Devon and Exeter Oncology Department by February 2024 and we’re grateful to everyone who has helped us along the way.”

The next fundraising event will be the Golf Captains’ Farewell Evening with dinner and a disco on 3rd February – more information coming soon!
