Congratulations to our Women’s Squash Team who have won both the Devon League and the Devon Cup double this season.
They won all of their matches in the league to remain unbeaten. They then completed the double by winning the Devon Cup final against Exeter University in a very closely fought match.
The first string match was crucial and it went the distance. Lauren, representing Exeter Golf and Country Club, won the first two games 15-12 before being taken to a decider. She held her nerve brilliantly to prevail 15-11.
Elle won comfortably at number 2 (15-1, 15-11, 15-7) to secure victory for the team.
Well done to Ladies’ Squash Captain, Mandie Rose, and her team – Lauren, Elle and Yasmin. The three young players are aged between 15 and 17, making their win extra remarkable.
Mandie, the Ladies Squash Captain, added “It was such a privilege to captain them. They represented themselves, the team and the club so well and were awesome ambassadors. Thanks also to their parents who encouraged and championed their daughters throughout the season”.
