MEMBERS… have you signed up yet?
Sunday 29 November is our Hybrid Games afternoon. Yes, there’s a challenge involved. Yes, you’ll be testing your cardio and strength. But no, we’re not taking ourselves that seriously.
With two ELEMIS Deep Tissue Massages up for grabs, there’s a little extra incentive to get involved. But the real point? Meeting other members, having a go, cheering each other on and heading to the Members Bar afterwards to carry on the fun.
All abilities welcome. No pressure to be the fittest in the room, just come ready to give it a go.
Oh, and did we mention it’s free to enter and takes just a few minutes to sign up?
Get your name down! DM for the link, pick up a leaflet in the club, scan the qr code, or head to the website news pages.

Even Monday nights land better now.
What started as a Wednesday 5K just over a year ago has turned into a little running family.
One minute, everyone’s finding their feet and trying to make it round 5K. Gradually, the pace picks up, the running friendships grow and someone suggests entering the Great West Run. Next thing we know, NINE are signed up for the half marathon.
Half marathon training starts soon, but Wednesday Run Club is still going strong.
The weekly 5K continues, with all paces welcome and plenty of encouragement along the way.
Whether it’s the first ever 5K or the next running goal, beginners are always welcome.
It’s amazing what can happen when a few people turn up for a run on a Wednesday. 🙌
That smile when you’ve earned your place at the World Championships in Tokyo! 🇯🇵🏃♀️👏
A huge well done to fitness member Jeanette McFadzen, who has secured her place at the 2027 AbbottWMM Age Group World Championships after an incredible 3:21 at the Berlin Marathon!
Competing in the women’s 55–59 age group, this is a pretty special achievement - and proof that determination, plenty of hard work and a love of running can take you a long way.
With a PB of 3:14, Jeanette clearly isn’t slowing down any time soon! Next up? The New York City Marathon on 1 November.
Jeanette, we’re so pleased to celebrate this with you. Good luck in New York - and enjoy every minute of the journey to Tokyo - and maybe even a bit of (safe) skiing! ! ❤️

Well done to Patrick!
11 months of training with PT Eleanor and not a single session missed. That’s what consistency looks like. 💪
Recently, Patrick has been stepping outside his comfort zone, adding more functional training to his sessions using the S-drive, assault bike and rower, alongside movements that go beyond traditional weightlifting.
And he’s putting that training to the test… 🔥 Patrick has signed up for the Hybrid Games at Exeter Golf and Country Club on Sunday 29 November!
Amazing work, Patrick. We can’t wait to see how you get on!
When the sauna becomes the ultimate multitasking session.
You’re catching up, putting the world to rights, and laughing with the girls - all while the heat gets to work.
As your body warms up, your heart rate rises, blood vessels dilate, and circulation increases. Your muscles begin to relax, easing that post-workout feeling.
Meanwhile, you get a chance to slow down, unwind, and take a break from the everyday.
Under the surface, your body is entering ultimate recovery mode:
Brain & Mood: Cortisol regulates, endorphins release, and your mind gets a total reset.
Heart & Circulation: Blood vessels dilate, circulation increases, blood pressure lowers, and your cardio gets a passive boost.
Skin & Glow: Pores are deeply cleansed, cellular renewal kicks on, and collagen production gets a jumpstart.
Muscles & Immunity: Inflammation lowers, muscle repair gets underway, red blood cells get a boost, and your immune system strengthens.
Tag the friend you need a wellness and catch-up day with. 👇

What a way to round off the 2026 Hilton Ames Funder Games!
After a summer of friendly rivalry, 25 team members and three club members competed across ten events against 12 other businesses from across Exeter - and on Friday, we took home the top spot!

A special thank you to our members Robbie, Matt and Phil for representing the Club, too!
Friday night brought the Games to a spectacular close as we hosted the James Bond Ball at the Club, welcoming almost 100 guests from local businesses to celebrate the summer’s competition. With incredible singing by Ellie Melmouth, the DJ skills of @futuremedia__events and casino games.

A round-up of recent golf action at Exeter Golf and Country Club.
There’s been plenty to celebrate, with Steve Sheldon and Keith Parnall collecting the President’s Tray after their winning performance at the DMVGA Spring Meeting, finishing seven under par with 43 points.
The Dartmoor League team also rose to the occasion, securing a vital 4–1 victory over Tavistock to retain their Division One status for next season.
Meanwhile, Exeter’s challenge to reclaim the Quaich Trophy ended in a narrow 3½–2½ defeat to Tiverton in a match played in great spirit.
Congratulations to everyone who represented the Club.
16k of moorland, woodland, rivers, bridlepaths and quite a few steep climbs… ten Exeter Golf and Country Club team members joined the group of 50 walkers from across different hospitality businesses in Devon for the Walk for Wellbeing on Sunday.
Thank you to everyone who donated to our fundraising, contributing over £1100 to the £10k raised in total by the Devon part of the nationwide sponsored walks for @hospitalityaction .
There’s an online auction, with some amazing experiences available, via the Walk for Wellbeing website…plus if you fancy a last minute donation, any amount would be much appreciated and help ease the aching legs today! Link in bio ❤️
A huge thank you to the @ilsingtonhotel and @boveycastlehotel for organising the event - we’re looking forward to next year already!
