What do you do?
General Manager. I am responsible for the day to day running of every aspect within the Club, the well-being of up to 90 staff and the health and safety of all staff and our members. No day is ever the same and I enjoy getting involved with everything including, overseeing the management of refurbishment projects, being hands on and visible at large member events, keeping an eye on the accounts and last but not least it is a pleasure getting to know as many of our members as I can.
What do you love about the club and working in leisure?
I am really proud to be the manager of this great club and lead one of the strongest management teams I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I also love having a vision of changing something and then making it happen with the help of my team. Every change we make is always done to create an improved member experience. Hotels and hospitality is all I have known since leaving school and I couldn’t imagine doing any other job.
When did you start?
August 2013.
A sentence about you?
I am a proud father of three sons aged between 11 and 18 who do their best to help keep me feeling younger than I really am.
Favourite leisure activities?
Snowboarding has to be my favourite leisure activity. I have been boarding for 15 years and love to travel to a new snowy destination each year. My favourite resorts are Verbier and St Anton, but next year it will be a dream come true as I get to tackle the slopes of Whistler. My other hobby is badminton and I currently play for a team who play at the Circus and Barton Acorn Badminton Club in Torquay.
