A new yoga class is starting at Exeter Golf and Country Club on Thursday 7th December, with local yoga teacher Ricky Dillon.

Yin is a relaxed, passive style of yoga that involves holding poses, or asanas For longer durations and increasing inner awareness to your breath and thoughts.

Yin Yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body—the tendons, fasciae, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility.

This style is suitable for people who are new to yoga or want to balance intense workouts. It’s also great for people who have health concerns or injuries that require low intensity activities. Yin yoga also works well higher impact workouts and activities and helps to correct posture and alignment.

Ricky Dillon is an experienced yoga instructor who was drawn to yoga’s transformative qualities, in a subtle yet powerful level. He is also qualified in meditation and mindfulness. Ricky explains that, for him, yoga and meditation is a journey where one can find inner calm and contentment.
