At Exeter Golf and Country Club, food matters. Not just as something to eat, but as part of the experience we share as a community. Our kitchen team cook everything on site from scratch – no central production kitchens, no mass deliveries, just real ingredients and skilled preparation.
This independence allows us to focus on quality and authenticity. Every dish is created here, in our kitchen, with care and attention. We know exactly what goes into our food, and we take pride in delivering meals that are fresh, honest and full of flavour. Preparing dishes on site means we maintain high standards from ingredient to plate, giving members dining experiences that reflect our commitment to excellence.
Local sourcing is a core part of that philosophy. We work with trusted regional suppliers who share our values. Eggs come from R H Down – The Brown Egg Farmer in Talaton, just outside Exeter. Meat is supplied by MC Kelly in Copplestone, mid-Devon. Fish arrives via Wright Brothers Ltd in Paignton sourced directly from Brixham FIsh Market for maximum freshness. Our fruit and vegetables come from Goosemoor Farm, Dart Fresh at Topsham, Exeter, showcasing seasonal produce that delivers vibrant flavour.
Choosing local suppliers isn’t just about community connections – it improves quality. Ingredients that travel fewer miles are often fresher, and fresher ingredients simply taste better. It also reduces environmental impact and supports producers who take pride in their craft. We value those relationships because they help us deliver food that reflects the best of Devon’s produce.
From 10th March, our new menu will bring this approach to life. It combines modern, flavour-led dishes with high-protein options designed for a range of preferences and lifestyles. Whether you’re looking for something to refuel after training or a contemporary take on comfort food, the menu offers variety without compromising quality.
The Kitchen Collab – Personal Trainer Collection is a key part of that offering. Developed with input from our PT team, these dishes focus on performance-friendly nutrition and high-protein ingredients while still delivering exceptional taste. It’s food designed to support active lifestyles and wellness goals, balancing nutrition with enjoyment.
At its heart, our philosophy remains simple: fresh ingredients, on-site preparation and independent values. By cooking everything from scratch and working with local suppliers, we ensure that quality and craftsmanship guide everything we do.
Members can experience the new menu from 10th March. It’s a celebration of fresh food, independent hospitality and dishes made with care – a reflection of the standards and community that define our club.
