Wilsign Racketball Tournament

Racketball Tournament Match Report by Luke van Zijl, Men’s Squash Captain

On Friday evening we held the annual Wilsign Cup at Exeter Golf and Country Club and enjoyed a fantastic evening of Racketball.

A huge thank you to all of the player competing on the night and also Alan and Frances Wilson for their continued and unwavering support of the Squash and Racketball section.

The night saw fierce, but fun and competitive matches throughout the event, culminating in a Cup final between Sue Trewin and Mike Esson.  Despite Sue’s best efforts, and pulling things almost level in the middle of the match, Mike pushed through and was the worthy winner of the 2025 Wilsign Cup trophy.

The tournament saw new many new faces, not only new to the Wilsign Cup, but new to Racketball in the past few months and weeks, thus strengthening the participation levels and steady growth of Racketball at Exeter Golf and Country Club.

The event also celebrated a Plate and Saucer draw, the full list of winners and runners up are below:

Wilsign Cup Winner – Mike Esson

Wilsign Cup Runner Up – Sue Trewin

Plate Winner – Jo Brown

Plate Runner Up – Kate Rothwell

Saucer Winner – Mandie Rose

Saucer Runner Up – Noel Pascoe
