Fundraising cheque presentation to YMCA

A cheque for £14,423.35 was presented to YMCA Exeter following a year of fundraising by the 2021 Golf Captains, Lizzie White and Charles Kislingbury.

The outgoing Golf Captains presented their charity cheque at the Golf Section AGM to YMCA joint Chief Executive, Gareth Sorsby. The fundraising money will help the YMCA fund their Sidwell Studios Project for 26 one-bed apartments which is shortly to open, accommodating young people at risk of homelessness in the city.

Charles said “We were keen to identify a charity which was focused upon young people and specific to us here in Exeter. The YMCA project, Sidwell Studios, met those criteria and we are delighted to have been able to help.

Lizzie said, “Thank you to the generosity of fellow members and visiting golfers who have supported our fundraising through the year for this worthwhile, local charity.”
