A slight delay due to frost but then our Greenkeepers had a very productive Spring Maintenance Week ready for the season ahead.
A little report from Dave…
This week we have been carrying out our greens maintenance program. We had frosty mornings which delayed our maintenance on the greens daily, luckily our new Dyno core system come in clutch, this machine extracts 7mm cores at a faster pace. This has made our thatch extraction more efficient and if the weather is on our side turn the greens around quicker.
The greens have also been sown, top dressed, verti drained, brushed, ironed and new holes cut. In addition to the greens maintenance we have also carried out some work on our summers tees - Solid tying, turf repairs and fertilising.

It’s another Quiz Night rollover! Hosted by Men’s Golf Captain, James, and Men’s Squash and Racketball Captain, Luke, the second Quiz Night was a great success with Wear Park full once more. ‘The Jokers’ won the evening’s quiz by ½ a point to the second 2nd place team, ‘Friends and Family’.
The Jokers won the £150 prize but gambled their prize for a chance at the Jackpot but ended up choosing the box with £150 so they didn’t really lose anything in the end! This does now mean the Jackpot for the next quiz is a massive £400! 💰
