EXETER'S PREMIUM GYM
& WELLNESS CLUb
INDEPENDENT | LIFESTYLE-LED | EXPERT COACHES
You can train at any gym in Exeter – but very few let you finish a strength session with a swim, unwind in the sauna, refuel with freshly prepared food, meet friends for coffee, stretch out in Pilates and book a deep tissue massage – all in one place.
At Exeter Golf and Country Club, fitness is more than an hour in the gym. It’s a place to train harder, recover better and enjoy the journey.
Whether you’re building strength, training for your first Hyrox event, preparing for a marathon, following a functional fitness programme or simply investing in your long-term health, you’ll find the space, coaching and community to help you keep progressing.
Because the best results don’t come from the hardest workout. They come from finding a place you’ll want to come back to.

TRAIN YOUR WAY
EXPERT COACHES | TOP QUALITY EQUIPMENT
No two members train for the same reason – everyone feels welcome to train for their own independent goals, but with the sense of community you get when you’re amongst people who’ve been coming here years.
Walk through our gym on any day and you’ll find people training for completely different reasons:
A Hyrox athlete shaving minutes off their time.
A bodybuilder chasing a new PB.
A runner building strength to stay injury-free.
A 17-year-old learning to lift with confidence.
A member in their seventies staying strong, mobile and independent.
None of them train the same way.
All of them belong here.
Our members range in age from 16 to over 90, creating a community that’s as diverse as it is welcoming. Whether you’re taking your first steps into fitness or have been training for decades, you’ll never feel out of place.
UNLIMITED CLASSES
Stay motivated with more than 85 weekly group exercise classes, including Functional Fitness, Strength, Circuits, Spin, Pilates, Yoga, Les Mills BODYPUMP™ and BODYBALANCE™, plus classes for every fitness level and goal.

WARNING - IT'LL TAKE OVER YOUR LIFE
Most people worry they’ll struggle to make it to the gym.
Our members have the opposite problem.
One workout turns into a swim. A quick coffee becomes lunch on the terrace. Before you know it, you’re back the next day for a class, a sauna or to catch up with friends. It’s a pretty good problem to have.

NOT. LONG. NOW.
Sauna. Cold-water shower. Outdoor swim. Repeat.
Move between heat, cold and water for a simple contrast routine designed to help you switch off, reset and leave feeling refreshed.
Your new favourite way to slow down might be just days away.
Our new outdoor sauna is almost ready - and we’re looking forward to seeing it become part of your new wellness ritual.

What if your training wasn’t just preparing you for your next PB - but your next 20 years?
Hybrid training brings together strength, endurance, power, mobility and conditioning to build a broader base of fitness - the kind that helps you stay strong, capable and active as you age.
It also happens to be a pretty effective way to train for HYROX, where you need to combine running with strength, power and conditioning, and keep performing as fatigue builds.
The long-term goal? Training for the long game.
The more immediate side effects are pretty good too.
A stronger HYROX. A faster Parkrun. A marathon you’re ready for. More power on the golf course. More speed and agility on court. More endurance in the pool. Or legs ready for this winter’s sking or snowboarding.
Want to build your own hybrid programme?
Ask the gym team, book Personal Training with one of the team, or join Functional Fitness sessions:
Monday 6pm | Tuesday 6pm | Wednesday 7.15am - for 30 minutes of focused hybrid training to build fitness, strength and agility - for whatever you want to take on next.

The greens are showing signs of new life.
Seven days post coring and dressing, new shoots of bentgrass are starting to emerge - a promising sign of recovery and healthy growth.
There’s still a little way to go, but it’s encouraging to see the greens responding so well. ⛳️

Cat Yoga this morning at our Sunday morning session of @lesmillsbodybalance with a surprise guest appearance by Ginger the cat. ...
There’s something rather special about having nowhere else to be.
A peaceful swim. A few quiet minutes in the Garden Pavilion. Time to slow the pace, clear your head and simply enjoy being here.
Because wellness isn’t always about the next workout or another thing to tick off. Sometimes, it’s the luxury of time to yourself.
We’ll always love seeing the club full of life - but these quieter moments are pretty special too.

We don’t want to rush you or anything… but these are the last batch of our summer Eton Mess Blondies.
Of course, they’re making way for something a little more autumnal. Think Autumn Berry Bakewell, new cinnamon buns, cosy muffins and plenty more seasonal cakes and bakes to come.
So, if you’re still firmly in your summer era, this might be your last chance for a summery Eton Mess Blondie while they last.

Forget the bumps. Rich is celebrating with burpees.
Rich turns 42 next Tuesday, and rather than keeping the pain to himself, he’s decided to share it with everyone at 6pm Functional Fitness.
A special birthday session, hybrid training with upper body, lower body, strength, cardio, conditioning - and whatever else Rich thinks will make his 42nd memorable.
Tuesday | 6pm | Book on the app
Come celebrate with him. He’s promised it’ll be fun. Probably.

The perfect autumn routine is taking shape…
Workout. Outdoor pool. Sauna.
Our new outdoor sauna is almost ready, just in time for the cooler days ahead. There’s something about cooler mornings and darker evenings that makes a sauna feel even more inviting - especially after a good workout and a swim in the outdoor pool.
It’s going to be the perfect spot to slow things down, warm up and make more of your time at the club this autumn and winter.
Opening date coming soon.

RE-FUEL, HYDRATE, RECHARGE at Exeter Golf and Country Club.
However your day looks, good food and drink should always be part of the plan.
Our team of chefs prepare fresh, real food from scratch, using local ingredients when possible. So whether you’re after something light, protein-packed, hearty or a favourite from the kids’ menu, you can expect food made with care.
Start with breakfast or brunch. Grab a coffee and pastry between plans, a smoothie after a workout or settle in for lunch with friends.
Then there’s afternoon tea when you have time to linger, a catch-up over coffee, drinks with colleagues or a table filled with family.
From the Members’ Bar and Garden Pavilion to Wear Park Restaurant, or even the Pool Hut during summer months, there are plenty of places across the club to eat, drink and stay awhile.
Good food. Good company. One more reason to stay.

TRAIN, PLAY, REPEAT at Exeter Golf and Country Club.
However you like to stay active, there’s always another way to move.
Strength and fitness in the gym. Fast rallies on the tennis and squash courts. Fairways, fresh air and 18 holes on the golf course. Lengths in the pool. Or a little of everything.
Because being active should be something you enjoy - and at Exeter Golf and Country Club, you can make it as varied as you like.
One club. So many ways to train and play.
...
RECOVER, REST, RESET at Exeter Golf and Country Club.
Training hard is only part of the picture. Recovery is where your body gets the chance to recharge, repair and come back stronger.
At Exeter Golf and Country Club, make time for the quieter side of your routine - from a swim and time in the jacuzzi to a spa treatment, a slow coffee or simply switching off for a while.
Because feeling your best isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes, it’s about knowing when to slow down.

We’ve had another hole-in-one on the 10th! This time, our congratulations go to Andy Bassett!
Andy’s ace was scored during the Oliver Flag Competition!
Well done! 🙌

Huge congratulations to Luke on an incredible performance at the AWPC World Powerlifting Championships 2026.
Competing in the Under 100kg T2 Classic Raw category, Luke - who’s only 17 - put together an impressive total:
170kg Squat
90kg Bench Press
180kg Deadlift
Luke has been training with us for the past 3–4 years, and it’s been brilliant to see how far he’s come. Over the last 18 months especially, Lum and Rich have really pushed his training forward, with Vince, Eleanor and Izzy also working with Luke during sessions.
A huge amount of work has gone into this - and at just 17, there’s plenty more to come. 👏💪
