Exercises to improve performance in golf and stay injury free

With the 2024 golf season underway, it’s the perfect time to start some regular exercise to help prevent injury and even improve your performance on the golf course.

Fitness Manager, Nick Rose has put together a Golf Workout with exercises to increase your driving distance and consistency while increasing your power and rotational force. Whilst it’s always great to feel strong while playing, no-one wants an injury and these exercises will help ensure you keep those aches and twinges at bay through the season. By increasing spine stability and strengthening the posterior chain, golfers can massively reduce the chance of common golf injuries.

Romanian Deadlifts (RDL) 4X8
Swings 4X8
Jump squats 4X12
Russian Twists 3X20
Deadbugs 3X20
Plank Drag-Through 3X20

Both the RDL and Swings will work the posterior chain, while Jump Squats add some explosiveness. Russian Twists will work the rotational force. Deadbugs and Plank Drag Throughs will work the spine stability.
