Club President’s Golf Day

The Club President’s Men’s Golf Day 2024 was enjoyed by over 150 golfers raising money for a great cause. A huge thank you to the Hospiscare volunteers and the golfers who pitched in throughout the day, serving food and drinks while offering encouragement to the players.

The generosity of the participants really shone through, with an amazing £924 raised for Hospiscare – an amount they were thrilled with!

In terms of the golf, despite battling a chronic toothache and having had little sleep, Grant Dee Shapland displayed incredible perseverance, winning the Presidents Day trophy with a stellar nett 63, even after scoring a 10 on the 3rd hole!

A special mention to Harrison Winton, who recorded an outstanding nett 59 but, unfortunately, was ineligible for the trophy. However, he clinched the win in division 3. Sam Rockey and Charles Kislingbury both played excellently, winning division 1 and division 2 respectively, each with nett 65.

Lastly, a massive congratulations to Steve Buchanan for his impressive hole in one on the 6th hole!

It was clearly a day filled with great golf and even greater generosity!
