An Evening With Steve Rider

A Charity Fundraising Evening | Wednesday 24th September

A Ryder Cup warm-up with legendary Sports Personality, Steve Rider.

Join us for an unforgettable evening at Exeter Golf and Country Club, welcoming legendary sports broadcaster Steve Rider for a Q&A session hosted by Men’s Golf Captain, James Mullins and Director fo Golf, Darren Everett. Taking place in the Duckworth Suite with tables of ten, tickets are available as individuals or a full table. With the bar open from 7pm and pie and chips served at 7.30pm, Steve will take to the stage for an after-dinner Q&A.

This unique charity fundraising night combines laughter, stories from the world of sport, and support for two incredible local charities: Exeter Leukaemia Fund and Hospiscare.

About Steve Rider

For more than 30 years, Steve Rider has been a familiar face on British television. Best known for presenting major sporting events, Steve has:

Fronted over 50 Major Golf Tournaments for BBC and ITV
Covered six Ryder Cups
Reported from 25 consecutive Masters Tournaments (despite admitting he still can’t play golf!)
Presented from the Olympic Games, Rugby World Cup, Formula One, and countless top-level football matches

Steve brings with him a wealth of behind-the-scenes stories, personal insights, and light-hearted anecdotes from a lifetime in broadcasting. His easy style and humour make him a natural raconteur – perfect for an entertaining evening with fellow members.

Supporting Local Charities

This special evening also has a greater purpose. Steve is passionate about raising awareness for Prostate Cancer, and this event is dedicated to raising much-needed funds for two vital Devon charities:

Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) – supporting patients with blood cancers and disorders across the region

Hospiscare – providing compassionate end-of-life care for local families

By attending, you’ll be helping make a difference while enjoying an unforgettable night.
