Spa Tips for the Spring

Amber Austin, Senior Spa Therapist explains which ESPA products she recommends with some spa tips for the spring.

It is that time of year again when we are all suffering with the seasonal bugs thankfully I have been able to fight it off quickly. I have been using the ESPA Resistance Oil with its antibacterial blends of tea tree and eucalyptus essential oils by adding a few drops into my hands and inhaling in. I also massage it into my skin in firm, upward movements towards the heart until it’s fully absorbed, focusing on my chest and throat – this helps with congestion. The benefits of the Resistance Oil are:

  • strengthens the immune system when you need a boost
  • helps to ward off the bacteria and viruses that can cause coughs, colds and flu
  • antibacterial action aids minor skin infections
  • uplifting action helps enhance a sense of well-being

The second ESPA product for winter survival is SOS 24 Hour Skin Saviour. This has definitely helped with my dry skin. It has an immediate effect treating cracked, dry skin that has been over-exposed to heat, cold or urban environments with an intense surge of hydration. Perfect to pack for skiing holidays! Gentle Meadowfoam and Tamanu Oils help diminish redness while they soothe minor irritations and chapped skin. Skin-softening Evening Primrose, Manuka Oil and Shea Butter, create a powerful barrier against the elements to lock in moisture and protect. It is also perfect for to fight against the drying effects of air travel as well as for calming mosquito bites – so a good all-rounder for winter and summer holidays.

Lastly one of favourites is one of ESPA newest additions – the Optimal Skin Pro Moisturiser. It is a not a heavy moisturiser but leaves my skin feeling hydrated and glowing, making it a definite must have for the winter.

This moisturiser’s advanced responsive hydration delivers nutrient-rich, hydrating actives to where skin requires them most. Regardless of season or environment, whether skin is oily, normal or dehydrated, the lightweight, intuitive formula boosts skin’s natural processes to restore balance and ensure long-term visibly healthy, beautiful skin.

Apply a small amount on to cleansed face, neck and décolleté after using ProCleanser, Spafresh and ProSerum. For optimal results, repeat morning and night. Further ‘lock in’ the benefits by applying ProDefence SPF 15 over ProMoisturiser for your final protective layer.

Of course, a fantastic way to protect or repair your skin in the winter is with one of our personalised ESPA facials – that has to be the best of my spa tips for spring.
