Our Racketball Team take on Devon & Exeter’s 1st Team

Last night was the second match of the season for the Exeter Golf & Country Club’s 1st Racketball team sponsored by Nexus Open Systems, this time at home against Devon & Exeter’s 1st team.
First on court at number 5 was Nick Rimmer, a welcome and very last minute substitute due to a team injury, he played on after a squash ladder match. Nick played well but with more errors creeping in as the game progressed he lost 3-0 to Karen Bealey.

Stuart Gilfillan turned out for his second 1st team match at number 4 and had an excellent game against Gary Worth, losing 3-1 but with tight games throughout, he enjoyed it so much he’s switching from squash to focus on racketball, great!

Our number 3 Robin Turl played against Paul Smith, a hard game ensued but in the end we lost the string 3-0. Jon Sharpe (The String Doctor) stepped in at number 2 to help the team out, playing Tim Gillingham this was another great game, with the 3-0 win to Tim not reflecting the quality of the match. Finally Chris Goodwill played at number 1 against Jon Tipper of D&E, dominating from the outset Jon went on to win comfortably in 3.

Next match: home against the Devon & Exeter’s 2nd team on Thursday 27th October
