New Head Chef moves to Exeter Golf and Country Club.

Adam Little, one of Exeter’s top chefs starts at Exeter Golf and Country Club as Head Chef in charge of food in the bars, restaurants, functions and weddings on Monday 20th October 2014.

Those who have booked a Christmas party at Exeter Golf and Country Club have chosen well this year, as the man ensuring their festive food is memorable for all the right reasons, is one of Devon’s top chefs. A new era of dining is on the menu at Exeter Golf and Country Club with the appointment of a new Head Chef, Adam Little.

Joining Adam at Exeter Golf and Country Club and Wear Park Restaurant will be his long-term Sous Chef, Ben Corcutt and Commis Chef, Pinky Peters.

Adam is moving to the club with its Wear Park Restaurant, located in the Georgian manor house at Exeter Golf and Country Club on Topsham Road, following a seven year reign as Head Chef at Harry’s Grill Bar in Exeter city centre. Adam’s food at Harry’s Grill Bar is renowned in the city and he is looking forward to developing a new menu and re-launching Wear Park Restaurant in the new year.

At 38 years old, with over twenty years of experience in catering, Adam is looking for success in a larger arena and developing a new brigade of chefs to rosette standards, improving on the established reputation of the restaurant at Exeter Golf and Country Club. His impact has been noted by members already, when Adam made a guest appearance cooking at a high profile member dinner in the restaurant, on the same evening as the prestigious Food and Drink Devon Awards taking place in the club’s largest function room. The dinner was described by the club’s Captain’s Selection Dinner as the best they had ever eaten at the club. With his reputation preceding him, Adam is ready to take over the club’s full catering provision including the Sports Bar, Family Bar, banqueting, weddings and events, and Wear Park Restaurant.

Adam explains that he is excited about his new venture and with his team of chefs, will look at each area of the club’s food offering to ensure members, children, diners and guests can enjoy freshly cooked, seasonal food, using as many local products as possible.

Adam said, “I cannot wait to get started at Exeter Golf and Country Club. It’s a great time of year to get on board with all the Christmas events we have on the horizon. With thousands of guests celebrating the festive season, there won’t be much time to think, but when January arrives, people can expect to see some really positive changes to the club, functions and restaurant. I have so many ideas in making sure we treat our members and guests to food they will love, every time they visit – whether they want a hearty winter warmer lunch after a round of golf, or a healthy, energy boosting snack to revitalise them after the gym, or an indulgent, delicious afternoon tea on a spa day! I look forward to meeting the team, meeting the club members and working at one of Exeter’s most well-known and well-established businesses.”

The new role at Exeter Golf and Country Club is a natural progression for Adam, having worked for the club’s General Manager, Chris Jones in the past, before his time at Harry’s Grill Bar. Adam worked alongside Chris at the Dart Marina Hotel in Dartmouth for six years, before his move to Exeter. Whilst at the Dart Marina, Adam and Chris enjoyed many successes achieving the hotel’s fourth star and rosettes for one of the three restaurants there.

Adam has worked in many of the region’s top establishments with a CV to be proud of. His kitchen experience spans Bovey Castle and St Olaves Hotel as well as the Dart Marina and Harry’s Grill Bar. He has also worked abroad.

2014 has been a busy year for Adam with the birth of his first baby, Ava. He lives in Exeter with his fiancée Becky who he has been with for 12 years. For someone with such passion and drive, it is no wonder that he has plans for the future to push himself even more and one day hopes to open his own restaurant. In the meantime, between the cooker and cot, Adam manages to squeeze in a round of golf and gym sessions to keep him fit – luckily for him, both the golf and the gym are right on the doorstep of his new kitchen at Exeter Golf and Country Club.
