4BBB Stableford
Last weekend was a fourball better ball competition. The weather was cool and dry, and the course was presented well, considering the amount of rainfall leading up to the event.

1st prize, with a score of 44 Stableford points, went to the pairing of Grenville Pope (he taught Ryan, all he knows about the game!) and our Golf Manager Russell Mayne. Well done guys.

Pipped into second place, and also on 44 points, but beaten on a better back nine, were father and son pair Alistair and Fred Ross.  Chris Bryant and Andrew Shepherd were third on 42 points (BB9); a good showing from the pair who might have had a few too many drinks the night before! Completing the prizes in 4th place, and also on 42 points, were Neil Guppy and Chris Curtis, well done to all.

Ladies 4 Ball Team Event
Vera Richardson, Judith Boyle, Mary Ellis and Shirley Mason stormed to an impressive three point victory in this week’s ladies 4 ball team event with 73 points. In second place was the team consisting of Margret Strachan, Jan Hill, Christine Bailey and Ann Harris-Deans. Two points further back and in third place were Sandra Royston, Jackie Follett, Sylvia Audin and Margret Drew.

Mixed American Foursomes
Sunday’s Mixed American Foursomes was organised by Barbara Nute and your Lady Captain Viv Worthington and what a great success the event was. With a shotgun start in operation this created a great atmosphere when play had finished. Blustery conditions made scoring difficult for the field, however, the team of Pete Money and Anne Norman produced a fantastic winning score of 38pts. This year’s Captain Paul Smale and wife Jane were a shot further back in second and celebrated the birth of their first grandchild-congratulations to you both!. Shaun Greenaway and Gill Dunsford produced a level par 36 points to take third place. Three teams finished with 35 pts, but it was Dave and Gill Newberry that took fourth on count back.
