Latest Results

4 Ball Team Events
Saturday’s men’s 4 Ball Team event again started in sub-zero conditions. 18 Temporary greens were, unfortunately, the result, making for tricky conditions. Due to the temperature, the air becomes very dense, meaning the ball will not travel as far as a normal good strike. This also needs consideration for accurate approaches to be produced.

Two fantastic scores of 95 pts were produced on the day, with the team of Ray Banfield, Cliff Nightingale, Colin Wayman and Alan Wilson taking the winners’ podium with victory on the count back. Father and son Harry and Rob Flower, along with Alan Friend and Pete Scully, came in second place. In third place, and a point further behind, were brothers Andy and Chris Rocky with teammates Dave Lewandowski and Matt Baxter. Fourth position was achieved by Barry Lambert, Len Wood, Terry Paddon and Jim Reynolds with 93 points. Congratulations to all those in the prizes!

Ladies Stableford
The ladies section played their first singles competition of the month. Low scoring was required in order to win their respective divisions, with Silver division winner Jackie Follett scoring 42 points, Sue Edwards winning Bronze 1 division with 43pts and Jackie Fowkes producing a very impressive 47 pts to win Bronze 2 division.

Sian Clarke was runner up in the Silver division with 40pts, with Gill Newbery a further two points behind in third place. Jane Vlietstra was the runner up in the bronze 1 division with 38pts which was 3 points ahead of Liz White in third. Shelia Bolden came in second position in the Bronze 2 division with 39pts with Carol Gregory’s level par 36 pts good enough for third place.

Mixed 4 Ball Better Ball
Congratulations to all prize winners of Sunday’s winter mixed. The competitors were lucky with the weather as it was much warmer than it had been previously, and although temporary greens were still in operation, trolleys were allowed. Jackie and Mike Fowkes, in their first winter mixed, were the winners with a fantastic 53 points. This was followed by Will and Sue Gannon with 50 points. On a better back 6, Ladies Vice-Captain, Annie Norman, and Paul Jordan achieved third place a shot further back with 49pts.

This was the last of the four winter mixed competitions with all four events run fantastically by Stuart Martin and Liz Turner.
