Greetings from Gary Thursday, 24 February 2011
I have recently received the results from the customer equipment survey that was located on my website in the autumn of last year. Firstly, I would like to thank the members that participated as the results have been of great interest. The survey showed that the majority of individuals that participated were buying their equipment from a PGA Professional.
The survey also showed the importance of custom fitting. 100% of people that had custom fitted irons responded to showing an improvement. It was also shown that of people who were dissatisfied with their driver, 100% had been brought from an online retailer. In 2011 we will have the ability to custom fit a range of different clubs including Titleist, TaylorMade, Callaway and Lynx. Access to our Newcourt practice facility is also of great benefit as hitting real balls off grass gives a really good comparison to the situations you will face on the golf course. The addition of the Lynx range gives the option of custom fitting at Exeter Golf and Country Club at all levels of the price range so it hasn’t been easier to purchase equipment that will improve your golf game and make the 2011 season a very enjoyable experience
The Winter Mixed was played on Sunday 20th February. 76 people took part in this – a better ball competition – played off 7/8ths handicap. Although it was cold, there was no rain. Eddie Grant, fresh from his holidays, along with playing partner, Bobby Viney, stole the show with a better back nine and 44 points! Some of our readers may have noticed that Eddie has featured in the prizes several times over the last six months – I wonder what his secret is?
Will and I would like to thank everyone who has supported these Winter Competitions. We have enjoyed running them and wish our successors good weather next Winter.
We are running a promotion on FootJoy synergy shoes while stocks last.
