Over £3,000 was raised at a charity golf day at Exeter Golf and Country Club on Thursday 14th June.

The annual golf day, organised by Exeter Enterprise Rotary involved 28 teams of 4 from all over the UK.

The day was to raise funds and awareness of the Royal Marines Association Haslar Company and their work in supporting injured and wounded Royal Marines.

As well as corporate teams, teams from the Royal Marines Association including some of those supported by the Haslar Company took part on the day. The Lord Mayor of Exeter, Councillor Rob Newby attended on the day to see the Haslar Company team tee off.

The Haslar Company is a unit based at Plymouth’s HMS Drake which was formed in 2009 to support Royal Marines wounded in action after enduring traumatic experiences resulting in the loss of one limb or sometimes more.

John Perry from Exeter Enterprise Rotary said, “We chose the Royal Marine’s Haslar Company because of the inspirational and life-changing work they do in supporting our Marines wounded in action. We were delighted with the golf day which was a huge success and would like to thank The Lord Mayor for joining us on the day and everyone who took part.”

Calor Gas Exeter Team won on the day.
