Darts’ Planning Application – update
On 31 August, the Chairman, Vice Chairman and I had an informal meeting with Michael, Paul and James Dart to discuss their recent application for outline planning permission on the land adjacent to the golf course. We wanted to explain and they wanted to hearabout our initial assessment of the impact of their plans on the playability and safety of the 10th, 11th and 12 holes.
It was a positive and constructive meeting with all parties committed to looking for mutually satisfactory solutions, from our standpoint at no or minimal cost to the club, over the next few weeks.
We made it clear that the Board has no objection to the generality of their plans; it is simply the detail of them as they affect the club that we are very concerned about.
It is worth noting that the development, assuming approval, will be taken forward in stages over the best part of 10 years. The parts of it that currently affect the course are expected to be in the final phase.
We will keep members in touch with progress at suitable points.
Thank you for your continued support.
