Lifeguard Training Course in Exeter

Safety is everything here at Exeter Golf and Country Club and we pride ourselves in providing the safest environment possible for all our sports and for all our members.

Our Head of Pools is a National Pool Lifeguard trainer and First Aid trainer. We offer courses in both throughout the year for members and non members.

To train as a lifeguard, the person must be over 16 years old and able to swim 50 metres in less than one minute, plus 100 metres continuously on their front and the same on their back. Other requirements include the ability to tread water in deep water for more than 30 seconds, surface dive to the deepest part of the pool and climb out unaided.

The RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) course covers theory, basic first-aid, resuscitation and practical life-guarding skills.

NPLQ courses are delivered over five days, a number of times a year.

2016 courses are:

Monday 1st August – Friday 5th August
